We are pleased to inform that last September 15th, Mr. Alfonso Gañán Calvo President of Ingeniatrics was accepted as a Fellow of the American Physical Society upon the recommendation of the Division of Fluidics Dynamics.
The American Physical Society (www.aps.org) is a non-profit membership organization working to advance and diffuse the knowledge of physics through its outstanding research journals, scientific meetings, and education, outreach, advocacy and international activities.
D. Alfonso Gañán Calvo Professor of Department of Aerospace Engineering and Fluid Mechanics, ESI, University of Seville and inventor of Flow Focusing® technology among others is the first andalucian to be accepted into this organization. This distinction adds to the long list of awards is recognition for his outstanding contributions to physics. The citation will read as follow: “Novel insights, including experiments and theory for molding fluid jets into micro jets using aerodynamic or electrical forces”
