On behalf of Immunostep, Ricardo Jara, CEO and Alberto Conde, Marketing Director, have closed an agreement with Ingeniatrics Tecnologias, whose team was led by Joaquin Gomez Moya and Maria Flores. Ingeniatrics will apply its Flow Focusing technology in the production of fluorescent microparticles developed and designed by Inmunostep. These tiny particles will be delivered in tubes and utilized within Flow Cytometry calibration procedures in hospitals and research laboratories.

Immunostep is a technological company highly specialized on production of antibodies, reagents and other streamlined products for Flow Cytometry. Flow Cytometry is mainly utilized to recount and sort out microorganisms or cellules in hospitals, for clinical purposes and research laboratories. United Nations selected Immunostep as far as 2006 for supplying these kind of products.

During 2010, Immunostep has concluded the development and marketing study of a brand-new tube containing fluorescent microcapsules of a given caliber, to check results and collection in a Flow Cytometry apparatus. The mechanics involved in the manufacturing of this new Immunostep product require high precision and extremely well tuned control. All the microcapsules have to be of even diameter and the output should not damage them in any way, that’s why Immunostep chose Flow Focusing technology and Ingeniatrics as supplier.

Flow Focusing technology allows an accurate control of diameter and monodispersion, that all the microcapsules produced are even. Ingeniatrics was founded by a group of scientists working at the University of Seville led by Alfonso Ganan, the discoverer of Flow Focusing phenomenon. As from July 1st, Ingeniatrics is producing these tubes, which is its first production of a completely finished product to Pharma industry.
